I was playing $1-2 no limit, and this player that I had gotten to know over the couple of days that I was playing with him.We called him the shark because he would come in to the poker room around midnight when he new everyone had few drinks in them.Great player one of the best I have ever played with,he and another player were in a show down ,the flop came A-10 of spades and 7 of hearts, the shark bet $50.00 and was called on the turn came-J- of spades the shark bet 100.00 and was called. The river came -A- of diamonds, the shark Went all in for about another $300.00 and was called.
The shark turned over Quad Aces and the caller turned over a Royal Flush .
That is definitely a Bad Beat Story....how often do you get a Royal flush...I for one have never gotten that. Closest was a lower numbered straight flush. So to have a Royal Flush and think you got the other guy beat for sure because there'd be only one hand that could beat you...and then to see the guy did have that one other hand that could beat you...
The only saving grace for getting that bad beat is getting a bad beat pot as a result. So if that was the case here, that would have been awesome to see. Otherwise, that hurts!
