Hate Cash Games
Permalink

Playing a cash game $4-8 kill, and I got a pair of Kings I was second to act I raised to make it $8.00 to call, then one player called and the player on the button reraised to make it $12.00 to go the two blinds fold so I capped it at $12.00 the two players call so there is three of us in the hand. The flops come it is J,9,2 so looks good so far .I bet second player calls and the button raises I reraise they both call the next card is an 8 I bet again get a call and button raises I don,t put him on Aces because he didn't reraise me on the last card after I reraised him so I reraise they both call. The last card is a 6 so I bet both players just call,We turn over our cards the button turns his over first he has pocket Queens I turn over my poket Kings, then the player second to act turns over 5-7 for the straight.

How could he call the raises to $12.00 pre flop with 5-7 not suited then after the flop still have nothing and call two raises and need both turn card and river to make his hand.

This is why I hate playing Cash Games

Just looking at your post and I agree caller #2 should never have been in the hand pre-flop with 5,7o.  Especially when he is probably in mid position and someone early in the game raises.

Don't know what he was thinking there.  I can see that after he put his $8 in, now the pot is $22 and then when the Button reraises and you call, the pot is now $38.  #2 caller probably thought it was going to cost him only an extra $4 to stay in a $38 pot.

When the J,9,2 flopped he had a back door straight...pretty slim, so he was still continuuing to be the fool when you bet and he called.  I'd say he felt pretty pot committed at this point...by the time the Button reraised, the pot was now $70 and it would cost #2 caller another $8 to be in a $70 pot.  Some people want to just play and don't mind throwing that $8 bet in....

I can see at any point in time, the pot odds never justified #2 caller staying in.  Sometimes you can make a mistake and stay in preflop when you shouldn't have...but if it flops for you or the pot odds are correct to stay in then it no longer becomes a mistake.

In this case he should never have stayed in the whole time....what a crazy nut.

You should feel better that eventually this type of player will lose all his money.
